SELF DE / CON / RE STRUCT is a kinetic installation centred around a series of self-portraits. Visitors can choose to activate the mechanism that breaks apart the image.

The work emerged from an interest in the attraction of boundaries and the possibility of change. By placing her own image in the hands of the audience, Winder shifts control away from herself and towards the visitor. The installation creates a space in which the image, the machine and the viewer become part of the same unfolding situation.
